Terms of Service
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]
These terms govern your use of Straume — the website and the Straume Telegram bot — provided by [COMPANY NAME, SIA], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], Riga, Latvia (“Straume”, “we”). By creating an account or using the bot, you agree to them.
1. The service
Straume helps amateur padel players, communities and clubs run tournaments: registration and pairing, draws, schedules, results, standings, playoffs, ratings and Telegram announcements.
We keep improving Straume and may add, change or remove features. We aim to keep it available, but we don't guarantee that it will always work without interruptions or errors.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google, by email or with Telegram. Keep your sign-in secure — you are responsible for what happens in your account. Use your real name or a name other players know you by, and don't impersonate anyone.
Using the Telegram bot, for example to join a tournament, creates a player profile linked to your Telegram account, even without a website account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Straume.
3. Free use and paid plans
Joining tournaments, results and ratings are free. A free account can host one active tournament of its own at a time. The Player PRO, Community and Club plans add more, as described on the Plans page.
Every paid plan starts with a free trial of 6 months, one trial per account. Payments are not live yet: during the trial we don't ask for payment details and nothing is charged, and the trial simply ends on its end date — it does not renew automatically. When it ends, the plan's extra features stop; your tournaments, results and data stay.
Before we start charging, we will publish the prices and payment terms, and a paid plan will only start with your explicit agreement.
You can cancel a plan at any time in Manage subscription; it stays active until the end of the current period.
4. Hosting tournaments
Hosts, communities and clubs are responsible for the tournaments they create: correct details, the venue and court bookings, any fees collected outside Straume, how the event is run and the safety of the participants. Straume is an organising tool and is not a party to any arrangement between hosts and players.
Hosts can add players by name. Only add people who agree to take part and to have their name and results shown publicly.
Hosts and the organizer's admins can correct results. Disagreements about a tournament are settled between its participants and its host.
5. Ratings and levels
Ratings (ELO) and levels are calculated automatically from the results entered in Straume. They are for information only, may contain errors and are not an official ranking or a judgement of anyone's ability. We may correct or recalculate them.
6. Acceptable use
Don't enter false results or manipulate ratings, harass other players, add unlawful or offensive content (including names, descriptions and photos), upload content you have no rights to, send spam, try to access data or accounts that aren't yours, or try to overload the service or get around its limits.
You keep the rights to the content you add, such as photos and descriptions, and allow us to store and show it in Straume for as long as it is there.
7. Liability
Straume is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses arising from tournaments, matches, venues or arrangements between users. Our total liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Straume and delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
When an account is deleted, its past results stay in the tournament records as “Deleted player”, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, and disputes are settled by the courts of Latvia. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim there.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will announce significant changes on the website before they take effect. If you keep using Straume after that, the new terms apply.
